Sawyerl's Reviews: Rise of the Guardians (Movie)

Intro: This is a 3D movie I saw today with my class, and I LOVED it. It's about 5 guardians who protect children and have to defeat Boogie Man, or Pitch.

Main Characters: The 4 ORIGINAL guardians are: Santa, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, and Sandman. The new guardian is Jack Frost. The kids (with names) are Sophie, a little girl who LOVES bunnies and always wears fairy wings, Jaimie, a boy who claims he saw Santa, Easter Bunny, and Tooth Fairy, (which he did) but his friends don't believe him. And Cupcake, a girl who ALWAYS has a skirt on, starts out rude and mean but then turns kind and nice.

Plot: In the beginning, it shows Jack in a lake, then when he emerges, he finds a stick. That stick turns anything into ice with in awesome pattern with just one touch, and then he FLIES (yes, flies) to a small village. Nobody can hear him, and they walk right through him. (Because in this movie's case, if you are a guardian, somebody must believe in you to see or touch you.) Jack later realizes that nobody can hear him nor touch him. Then the scene changes to Santa's workshop, and he checks his globe that shows all the children that believe in the guardians. Then The Man in the Moon says there is going to be a new guardian,(You can't actually hear him in the movie, but Santa exclaims, "Oh! There is going to be a new guardian, Man in the Moon?) and Sandman has a sand picture of a clover floating over him, (Sandman doesn't talk, so he uses pictures with sand that hover over his head.) so Easter Bunny says, "Oh, you think it's going to be the leprechaun, Sandman?" Sandman nods. They soon find out Jack Frost is going to be the guardian, and Easter Bunny says, "Jack Frost? Why him? He always wants to have fun, he wouldn't protect the children, and he always steals my eggs on Easter!" But it is him, then Easter Bunny and Jack have an argument. Later on, Pitch takes all Tooth Fairy's teeth, and her faries, but Jack saves one named Baby Tooth. Then Santa, Easter Bunny, Jack Frost, Sandman, and Tooth Fairy have a contest to see who can collect the most teeth, and Santa wins. Later on, the guardians go into Jaimie's room, and black sand horses (Pitch's black sand horses, that is.) attack them. Sandman tries to put them to sleep but ends up putting Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, and Santa to sleep. Then, Jaimie's sister, Sophie, finds Santa's magic snow globe and teleports somewhere, but Jack and Sandman don't notice. Then Jack and Sandman battle Pitch to the death, and Easter Bunny, Santa, and Tooth Fairy wake up and join the fight. Pitch later uses his BLACK sand (that turns anything it touches evil) to attack Sandman, who then turns black and evil, then he leaves. Jack uses his magical ice stick to repel Pitch's black sand he uses on Jack to go back at him. Then the guardians try to find Sandman, but they can't, and they decide to go to the Easter Egg Hunt, and go inside Easter Bunny's hole. They later go to a weird place with mini-eggs and gigantic eggs, and find Sophie. Jack takes Sphie home with Baby Tooth, then finds Pitch's lair. While he is in there, he is looking for his teeth. (Tooth Fairy says teeth have memories) He finds them, but then Pitch finds Jack, and defeats Jack, so Jack has to run away. Later on, with the guardians at the Easter Egg Hunt, Jack finds out that while he was gone, Pitch (or his horses) took away all the eggs, therefore leaving not many children believing in Easter Bunny. Then, as Jack DIDN'T want to happen, Tooth Fairy sees that he has his teeth. "Where'd you go, Jack?" she asked. "Uhh, this is nothing," replied Jack. "Wait, where is Baby Tooth?" asked Tooth Fairy. "Uh oh..." said Jack, then he flew away to find Baby Tooth. While he was gone, he finds a big snowy peak, and starts thinking that nobody believes in him, and Pitch comes. He says, "Hand over the stick, or say bye-bye to Baby Tooth." (He is holding Baby Tooth and might squeeze her to death.) Jack gives him the stick, but still throws Baby Toth as far as he can, throws Jack into a pit with his black sand powers, breaks the stick, then throws it into where he threw Jack and Baby Tooth. Jack then grabs Baby Tooth, fixes his stick, and looks at his memories. His memory is that he and his sister are on the ice, the ice is cracking, and Jack wants his sister to come towards him so he can save her. She does, Jack gets her to safety, but then the ice cracks and Jack falls in. While Jack is travelling, he finds Jaimie, the only boy who believes. Jack saw him just about to stop believing, then he believes, and he can see Jack. Pitch then comes, and ANOTHER battle begins. When the guardians come in Santa's slay, Santa and Tooth Fairy come out. "Where's Easter Bunny?" asked Jack. Then Easter Bunny comes out, and he is tiny because kids stop believing. Then the guardians protect Jamie, and he finds his friends, and THEY believe, and Easter Bunny grows bigger. Right when the guardians are going to lose, Sandman comes, returned to normal, and defeats Pitch. Then the guardians save the faries and the teeth. Santa then asks, "Do you, Jack Frost, accept to be a guardian, and protect children for eternity? "I do," says Jack. Jack then becomes a guardian, they fly away in Santa's sleigh, and that's the end.

Rating: I give this movie a 10/10, first because I LOVE the characters and their personalities, and how it teaches kids to believe.

Well, I hope you like this review/preview!
